Rivet Wins Track Sectional Title

The Vincennes Rivet Girls Track Team Came Away With The Sectional Championship At The Princeton Sectional Yesterday. The Lady Patriots Edged Out Gibson Southern 89-87 For Sectional Crown. Vincennes Lincoln Finished Fifth, South Knox Was 8th And North Knox 9th. The Top Three Finishers In Each Event Moved On To Next Week’s Regional. Grace Waggoner Led The Rivet Effort With First Place Finishes In The 100 Hurdles, 300 Hurdles, High Jump And Long Jump. Abby Niehaus Was First In The 100 And 3rd In The 200, Caitlin Creech Was Runnerup In The Shot, Megan Niehaus Was Third In The 100 And The 400 Relay Team Of Janine Anderson, Tia Tolbert, Megan Niehaus And Abby Niehaus Advance With A Second Place Showing. Advancing To Regional For Lincoln Were Alana Green With A Second In The Long Jump, Rachel Frey Second In The Pole Vault, Alaina Lowerry Third In The 1600 And Mary Franklin 3rd In The 300 Hurdles. Regional Qualifiers For South Knox Were Mykayla Couchenour Who Was First In The 800, Jillian Reeves With Second Place Finishes In Both The 1600 And 3200 And The 3200 Relay Team Of Reeves, Gretchen Carie, Jarrisa Page And Couchenour. Moving On To Regional For North Knox Were Makinzi Meurer Who Won Both The Pole Vault And The 200, And The 400 Relay Team Of Addison Mckinley, Kamryn Jones, Megan Cross And Meurer. The Track Regional Is Next Tuesday At Evansville Central.
The Vincennes Lincoln Softball Team Ended A Three Game Losing Skid With A 12-1 Five Inning Win Over Visiting Washington. The Lady Alices Exploded For 10 Runs In The Second Inning To Leave Little Doubt About The Outcome Of The Contest. Karlie Myers Tossed A Five Hitter For The Win. Hayden Brown Led The Lincoln Offense With Three Hits Including A Double, A Triple And Three Rbi’s. Kali Haynes Had Two Hits And Three Rbi’s, Carlie Becher Becher And Darrian Carmean Had Two Hits And An Rbi Apiece. The Varsity Moved To 13-9 Overall And 4-1 In The Big 8. The Lincoln Jv Evened Its Record At 7-7 With A 12-5 Win. Marissa Carmean Was The Winning Pitcher. Carmean Also Had Three Hits And Two Rbi’s. Tatum Rich Had Two Hits Including A Triple, Jayna Carter And Bailey Sparks Each Had Two Hits.
The South Knox Softball Team Fell To Tecumseh 12-2. Grayson Keller Was The Losing Pitcher. Chase Keller Had A Homer. Keller Had A Double And Kyndall Elliott And Kristie Williams Added Base Hits.
The North Knox Softball Team Was Blanked By Linton 2-0.

The South Knox Baseball Team Struck For Three Runs In The First And Went On To Down North Knox 4-1. Justin Heinz Was In Control On The Mound For The Spartans As He Tossed A Complete Game Three Hitter With 14 Strikeouts. Keegan Thomas Took The Loss For North Knox. South Knox Had Six Hits In The Contest And Were Helped Out By Five North Knox Errors. For The 12-9 Spartans, Heinz And Cleo Barmes Had Two Hits Each And Garrett Couchenour And Austin Snow Each Had A Hit. For 5-13 North Knox, Brayton Trinkle, Trey Keller And Chase Albrecht Each Had A Hit.
The South Knox Golf Team Lost To Pike Central At The Pride’s Creek Golf Course 157-173. For The Spartans, Lucas Beard Shot A 39. Tristen Dubbs Carded A 43, Coleton Hostetler Had A 44 And Colin Fausnaugh And Deaton Grove Had 47’s.

The Clark Softball Teams Wrapped Up Their Season With Wins At Washington. The Clark 8th Grade Won 13-0 As Addy Kent Tossed A No Hitter. Chloe Cardinal, And Livie Koenig Had Three Hits Each And Abbi Mcgavic And Alyson Beckort Had Two Hits Each As The A Team Finishes Its Season With A 7-5 Record. The Clark B Team Beat Washington 13-6. Addison Gaines, Morgan Leehy And Sydney Schmidt Had Two Hits Each.
