Grant Applications Being Accepted by the Daviess Community Foundation

The Daviess County Community Foundation is now accepting applications for charitable projects or activities in Daviess County. The Women’s Fund held at the Daviess County Community Foundation is providing funding for a single grant of up to $10,000 to support a charitable project or program. LINTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT

    March is kindergarten enrollment month for the 2017/2018 Linton-Stockton kindergarten classes! During the month of March we need enrollment forms for students entering kindergarten next school year. Drive for Homeless Veterans

March 1 - 31

The VFW Post 1157 Auxiliary in Vincennes is sponsoring a hygiene product drive for Homeless Veterans during the entire month of March. They are collecting travel-size hygiene products: deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, shaving cream, razors, body wash, lotion, etc. (no aftershave with alcohol please). Donations can be dropped off at the Post Monday thru Saturday. If any groups would be interested in taking part, contact Michael Turner. Lighthouse Recovery Center Annual Auction

Lighthouse Recovery Center Annual Auction/Benefit Dinner Will be held at the 4H Building Washington, IN On May 27, 2017 beginning at 10 am.   We are preparing for our Annual Lighthouse Auction/Benefit Dinner.  This auction is to help our residents with food, clothing, shelter and God’s mission to put their lives back together.  We will help clean out garages and basements, pick up furniture, vehicles or lawn/garden items. Martial Arts offered at VU Jasper

March 14 - May 2

Martial Arts For All,  a AKA certified course, will focus on Tae Kwon Do and will include self-defense, pressure point fighting, joint manipulation, ground fighting, and sport karate. Belt rank can be arranged. This course will continue with an optional eight-week extension. Class is open for adults and children. Class meets 8 Tuesdays,  March 14 to May 2,  6:30 to 8 pm. Purdue Extension Daviess County will be offering Recertification ServSafe classes for 2017.  The next class will be Tuesday March 28th. The cost is $60 and includes a ½ day of class and then testing after lunch. A book is $55. You must have previously been certified to take this class.
