Two Women Identified as Victims of Fatal Crash into Wabash River Near Oaktown

Two Oaktown-area women died this morning after their Humvee ran into the Wabash River.
The accident happened around one this morning. Indiana State Police say the vehicle was driven by 34 year-old Kyle Mason. Mason’s passengers included 33 year-old Cody Meeks, and their wives– 33 year-old Breezie Mason and 32 year-old Meaghan Meeks.
The Humvee was four-wheeling in a field, when it inadvertently drove off an embankment and into the river. Kyle Mason and Cody Meeks were able to escape the vehicle, but Breezie Mason and Meaghan Meeks were trapped in the vehicle. Both women were pulled from the vehicle around 10:30 this morning by rescue divers.
Autopsies will be conducted on the two bodies tomorrow. Foul play is not suspected in the accident.
