Governor Eric Holcomb wants lawmakers to approve an additional five-million dollars for the state’s Secured Safety Grant Program.
The program currently has a nine-million dollar annual budget to help schools buy safety equipment or hire police officers.
However, the most recent round of grant applications requested 3.5 million dollars more than what was available.
