Yesterday was Black Friday, but today is Small Business Saturday across the country. Small Business Saturday is the shopping day of the year that best benefits local businesses in each and every community. Small Business Saturday was started by American Express in 2010. According to the American Farm Bureau, $12.9 Million Dollars was spent in small businesses on Small Business Saturday in 2017 with officials projecting 2018’s numbers to be around even higher.
Jamie Neal with the Knox County Chamber of Commerce says that this is the biggest time of the year for many small businesses.
