Flood Warnings Issued for White and Wabash Rivers

The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for portions of the White and Wabash rivers in our area.

On the White River, officials are expecting minor flooding at Newberry, reaching a crest of 14.6 feet. Officials are forecasting flooding to reach 18.5 feet at Edwardport. Officials say the 18.6 foot level at Edwardsport is enough to close State Road 358 between Edwardsport and Plainville. At Petersburg, officials are expecting a crest of 19.8 feet and in Hazleton, officials are calling for a flood crest of 20.4 feet.

On the Wabash, Hutsonville is forecasted to see a crest of 20.6 feet, Vincennes is expecting 17.8 feet for a crest, and Mount Carmel will have a crest around 21.7 feet.

Officials say to turn around and don’t drown.
