The treasurer of a high school booster club is sentenced for stealing.

Melanie Redmond of Nineveh admitted to stealing more than $7,000 from the Brown County High School Athletic Booster Club.

Redmond told a judge she took money from the concession stand and used it to pay for gas, Christmas gifts, and food.

She was arrested in March.

A judge last week sentenced Redmond to 180 days on house arrest and 100 hours of community service.

She must also pay back the money she stole from the booster club and pay for court fees.
