Reece Hammelman and Brayden Thorne hit their free throws down the stretch to lead the North Knox Warriors to a 65-61 win over the Pike Central Chargers. The Warriors led 15-14 after one, 35-31 at half, and 44-43 after three. Pike Central took a lead in the fourth, but Reece Hammelman hit a corner shot with under a minute left to give the Warriors the lead. Brayden Thorne would then hit two free throws to salt the game away.
Hammelman led with 21 points, while Thorne added 18. Isaiah Collins added 11. The Chargers got 20 from Christian Benson to lead 3 Pike Central players in double figures. North Knox improves to 2-13, while Pike Central slips to 6-10. The Warriors have the week off before head to Washington to take on the Washington Catholic Cardinals on Friday night.
