Mr. Valentine Pescatore, age 73 of Robinson, IL died Thursday June 6, 2019 at 1:10 PM at Aperion/Burgin Manor in Olney, IL following several months of failing health.
Born February 24, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA the son of Augustine J. and Loretta Marie (Bryan) Pescatore. On November 8, 1986 he married Kathleen M. (Fabris) and she survives.
Val worked for U.S. Customs as an inspector for 36 years at Dulles Airport, Chantilly, VA; Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland and McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1971; was a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus #1704, Newton, IL; member of E.M. Coulter Post #69 of the American Legion; member of the Crawford County Senior Choir as well as the Lincoln Trail College Choir; member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Oblong, IL and served as Lector and Cantor and Usher at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Robinson, IL and was a member of the Alumni Chorus of St. James High School, Eddystone, PA and an honorary life member of St. Eugene’s Choir in Primos, PA.
Survivors include his wife, K.M. “Kaye” Pescatore, Robinson, IL; stepsons and spouses, David Joseph and Holly Gallagher, Robinson, IL, Kevin Michael Gallagher, Oblong, IL, Brian Richard and Tracy Gallagher, Aston, PA; step-daughter, Jennifer Gallagher, Ingleside, IL; brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph Thomas Pescatore, PA, Thomas Anthony and Dawn Pescatore, Philadelphia, PA; sister and brother-in-law, Roseann Marie and Robert Squitiere, Springfield, PA; two step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday June 12th, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Robinson, IL with Rev. Fr. James Flach celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be Tuesday June 11th, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Palestine, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
Knights of Columbus Service will be conducted Tuesday June 11th, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Military graveside rites performed by the combined units of E.M. Coulter Post #69 American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4549 and AMVETS Post #33.
