Republicans in Monroe City will need to hold a Republican Town Convention in August before the final ballot is set. According to Knox County Clerk David Shelton, Four republican candidates have filed to run for 3 Monroe City Town Board positions. Incumbent Mike Leech recently changed parties from Democrat to Republican, Matt Powell, Juan Fuller, and Michael Johnson are running for the seats. Bill Sampson is running for re-election on the Democrat ticket. Candidates have until August 1st to file to sun in a small town election.
