The group Yes-4-Washington will host a public informational meeting Monday night concerning Washington Community Schools Middle School Building Referendum which will appear on the November 5th election ballot.
The meeting takes place from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at Griffith Elementary School.
Voters in the school district are being asked to support the sale of bonds to finance construction of a new $38 million-dollar middle school building plus safety and security improvements to school facilities throughout the district.
The estimated increase in the property tax rate for debt service would increase by a maximum of just over .48 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
Carrie Alford of Yes to Washington says the project would cost the average homeowner less than $13.00 per month in additional property taxes.
