Gibson County Coal LLC notified the State of Indiana Friday it will lay off 184 employees on January 14th at the GCC Complex in Owensville and Princeton.
The company says the cuts are due to a reduction in production and are expected to be permanent.
The cuts include 169 underground miners, four office workers, two surface shop/yards employees, and nine prep plant workers.
The workers don’t have bumping rights and are not represented by a union.
