Eighth District Congressman Larry Bucshon has co-authored a Congressional bill to expand recycling nationwide. The RECOVER program would provide grants as incentives for local communities to invest in recycling programs, equipment, and education.
In a written statement, Bucshon said the bill would help with a recycling crisis of waste stream contamination, and what is called inadequate recycling infrastructure. The goal of the RECOVER program is to reduce litter in landfills, oceans, or elsewhere in the environment.
Bucshon is teaming with California Democrat Tony Cardenas to introduce the bill in Congress.
