Lincoln Pulls Away In 3rd to Down Pike Central

The Vincennes Lincoln Alices picked up their 4th win in their last 5 games Saturday defeating the Pike Central Chargers 57-40 at Alice Arena Saturday Afternoon.

Pike Central led 9-8 after the first quarter, but Lincoln led 19-17 after a 3 at the buzzer by Payton Curry at halftime, helping jumpstart the Alices. Lincoln took control of things in quarter 3 as they outscored the Chargers 25-5, thanks to a 7 for 9 performance from 3 point land in the quarter. The Alices then cruised on to pick up the 17 point win.

Lincoln was led in scoring by Torrence Gillis with 15 points. Payton Curry added 13 while Ethan Bushey added 11.

After the game, Lincoln Head Coach Jordan Myers talked about the advantage of a game like this typically goes the way of the team that gets it going first . . .

Vincennes Lincoln is back on the road Wednesday as they travel to Robinson to take on the Maroons.

In the JV Contest, Lincoln took down Pike Central 46-33. Luke Tolliver and Brennan Holland each had 11 while Simon Corrona added 10 in the win.
