The Vincennes Board of Works has approved the use of the Patrick Henry Square area for the annual Vincennes Watermelon Festival.  This year’s festival will be on Friday, August seventh, and Saturday, August eighth.

The request is one of a few event approvals by the Board of Works.  Others include a Riverwalk event to benefit the Isaiah 1:17 House; banner hangings for coming events to benefit Camp Wildwood; a request for street closures near the Vincennes Harmony Society for their Fourth of July event; and a request for use of the Riverfront Pavilion October 23rd for the annual Chili Cook-Off. This year’s cookoff is a benefit from the United Way of Knox County.

All the motions were approved unanimously.
