Lawrenceville, IL Man Facing Murder Charge in Knox Co.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department says a Lawrenceville, Illinois man has now been charged with murder in the death of a Knox County man.

Authorities had initially arrested 44-year-old C.C. Lee Cochran of Lawrenceville for Involuntary Manslaughter after investigating a crash in which a vehicle struck a house early Friday morning at 28-33 South Old US 41.

Cochran, a passenger, was found standing outside the vehicle.

The driver, 30-year-old Christopher Edward Anderson of Knox County, was found inside the house on the living room floor.

Authorities say he had deep lacerations and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s department says his wounds and death were not caused by the crash.

However, the exact cause of death is not being released pending an autopsy report.
