The South Knox Spartans continue play at the Old National Classic in Odon this afternoon. At 2, the Spartans take on Rushville. That game can be heard on 105.7 The Ride and WUZR.com

 

Domantas Sabonis scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Pacers to a 119-99 win over the Cavaliers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.  Doug McDermott had 18 points and nine boards off the Indiana bench.  Indiana improves to 4-and-1.  The Pacers are home tomorrow against the Knicks.

 

The number four ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish are set to face off against number one Alabama today in the Rose Bowl.  Notre Dame is 10-and-1 on the season, while the Crimson Tide are 11-and-0, with the game’s winner of the game advancing to the College Football National Championship against either number two Clemson or number three Ohio State.  Kick-off today from AT&T Stadium in Dallas is set for 3 p.m. Central Time.  This will be the eighth all-time meeting between the two storied programs, with the Irish leading the overall series 5-2.

 

In college basketball tomorrow, Indiana State will visit Missouri State, Purdue will be at Illinois in a Big Ten game, and Seton Hall will host Butler.  On Monday, the Hoosiers meet Maryland at home in Big Ten play.

 

The Colts will need to win Sunday over the Jaguars and some help to make the postseason.  The Colts are 10-and-5 and tied for first in the AFC South with the Titans, but Tennessee holds the tiebreaker.  Baltimore, Cleveland and Miami are also 10-and-5.  Indy rookie Jonathan Taylor is 84 yards shy of one-thousand rushing yards.

 

The St. Louis Blues are set to open their preseason training camp on Monday with 40 players on the roster.  Blues players will report to team physicians on Sunday to undergo fitness testing and physicals before hitting the ice for practice on Monday, January 4th at the Centene Community Ice Center.  The roster currently consists of 13 defensemen, four goalies, and 23 forwards, including new free-agent signee Mike Hoffman.  The Blues will open the regular season on January 13th against the Avalanche in Colorado.
