Claude “Sonny” Morris, 89, Vincennes

Claude “Sonny” Morris passed away Friday, May 28th, 2021 at 6:44 a.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.  He was born July 10th, 1931 to Ben and Addie (Roach) Morris.

Sonny retired from Gail Catt Truck and Trailer. After his retirement he worked for the Indiana State Highway Department, escorted trucks for C.L.R., and also helped Memering Motorplex and Dick Leonard Ford transporting cars. Sonny served four years in the Navy aboard the USS Black during the Korean War. His memberships included the VFW, Cooties in Lawrenceville, and the F.O.P.   Sonny enjoyed hunting with his sons, riding his Harley Davidson, driving his Ford truck, and his Mustang GT. He also enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Surviving are his children Cherie Stoelting and her husband Dave, Mike Morris and his wife Chris, Dave Morris and his wife Kathy, all of Vincennes, and Tom Morris and Jeff Reine of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Angie Lange and her husband Robb of Vincennes, Aimee Cummings and her husband Mark of Vincennes, Aaron Stoelting and his wife Amy of Vincennes, Andrew Stoelting and his wife Ranzi of Jasper, Sean Morris of Vincennes, Adam Morris and his wife Sarah of Vincennes, Melissa Pohl and her husband Aaron of Vincennes, and Ashlee Morris of Vincennes;  along with 14 great grandchildren.

Preceding him were his parents, and his wife Rose Mary (Kutter) Morris whom he married November 21, 1955 and preceded him in death March 5, 1998.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Ernst officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from Noon until the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice.
