Murel David Ellis, 65, passed away at 3:24 pm on July 4, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Dave was born on January 18, 1956 in Vincennes, the son of Murel Aaron and Helen Louise (Groomes) Ellis. He married Nancy Marie Cummings on July 4, 2016.
Dave served his country in the United States Marine Corp. and had been a tree trimmer. He enjoyed building his trike and working on his two cars. Dave especially enjoyed singing karaoke with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Ellis of Evansville, IN; daughters, Sara Green of Louisville, KY, Ashley Green of Atlanta, GA; his step-children, Rebecca Wininger of Evansville, Tiffany McClure of Crestview, FL., Nikki Stokes of Vincennes, Ashley Stokes of Vincennes; sisters, Virginia “Jenny” Ellis of Evansville, IN, Brenda Lyons of New Carlisle, OH, Beverly Ely of Dayton, OH; and sixteen grandchildren. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.
Friends may visit with Dave’s family from 10:30 am until the hour of the graveside service on July 9, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 919 Willow St., Vincennes, IN.
