North Knox finished in 3rd and Vincennes Lincoln finished in 4th of their portion of the First Savings Bank Classic in Volleyball. North Knox went 2-1 on the day defeating Shoals and Vincennes Lincoln. Lincoln went 1-2 as they defeated Evansville Christian.
Rivet Volleyball went 2-2 on the day at the Springs Valley Volleyball Invitational. The Lady Patriots defeated Hancock County, KY and Forest Park, but fell to Springs Valley and Edgewood. The Lady Patriots took 2nd on the day.
The South Knox Spartans Boys Soccer Team took down Washington Catholic on the road 8-1 Saturday. Meanwhile, the Lady Spartans and Lady Cardinals finished in a 0-0 draw
The North Knox Lady Warriors fell to Northeast Dubois in Girls Soccer. Final Score was 5-0.
Vincennes Lincoln and South Knox competed at the Evansville Harrison Cross Country Invitational Saturday. South Knox finished 8th overall on the boys side with a team score of 176 while Vincennes Lincoln finished with a team score of 365, good enough for 14th. 28 teams competed at the event with Austin taking home 1st place. On the girls side, South Knox finished 2nd while Vincennes Lincoln didn’t have enough runners for a team score. Evansville Reitz took home 1st on the girls side of the Harrison Invite.
The South Knox Lady Spartans finished 3rd at the Rivet Girls Golf Invitational. Trinity Dubbs led South Knox with a 77.
In middle school sports, South Knox finished 4th at the North Posey Invite in girls cross country action with a team score of 97. On the boys side, South Knox was first with a team score of 55.
In Junior College Volleyball, Vincennes Split 2 matches at the Diggin’ in the Den event. Wallace State took down Vincennes in the morning match 17-25, 15-25, 23-25 while Vincennes defeated BeVill State Community College 25-9, 25-16, 25-16. Vincennes is now 2-1 on the season.
In Major League Baseball, the Cardinals pounded the Pirates 13-0. The Cubs shut out the White Sox 7-0. Miami defeated Cincinnati 6-1.
