Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is warning Hoosiers of Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping scams this holiday season. Rokita says it’s important to use caution and do some research before spending your hard-earned money.
According to the Better Business Bureau, financial fraud and identity theft reports increase at this time of year largely due to online scams. In 2021, the BBB revealed 35% of fraud reports were the result of an online scam.
Among other things, Rokita says if a product is advertised at an unbelievably low price that sounds too good to be true, it likely is.
