The Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust has given the Daviess Community Hospital Foundation almost $7,400 in funding. The grant will raise breast cancer awareness in low-income women in Daviess, Martin, and Pike counties. The money will go toward screening mammograms and diagnostic services. Its primary goal is to increase the number of women receiving mammograms at DCH.
The funding is also designed to increase follow-through rates of women needing further diagnostic mammograms. Lower income women who are 40 and over in Daviess, Martin, and Pike Counties are encouraged to call DCH for a screening mammogram.
