The National Park Trust has given a $25,000 award to the Knox County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area. The group’s plan is to engage George Rogers Clark National Park, along with around 100 volunteers, to increase knowledge of native plant species.

The funding will go toward planting nearly 8,400 native plants along the Lower Levee Trail at the park.  The plan is to enhance the area as an attractive nature meadow. The group’s focus is providing native plants, while eliminating invasive species from area land.
