If you like a good steak– or even a good hamburger from time to time– you will likely be paying more for it. It’s because of several factors that have to do with the economy when it comes to farming.
The Indiana Beef Cattle Association says beef prices are 10- to 15-percent higher over the last two years. The main reason is that there are simply fewer beef producers now than there were before, which is making it hard for the industry. The weather has also not helped this particular season , with wild fires happening out west. Consumer demand for beef products has not cooled off, which has farmers struggling to keep up
