Illinois Governor J-B Pritzker is planning to sign a 53-billion-dollar budget plan approved by the Illinois General Assembly.
The governor said this is the sixth balanced budget he has proposed in as many years.
It includes more than 500-million-dollars in increases for education and the elimination of the statewide grocery tax.
The budget also includes tax increases on sportsbooks, retailers, and other businesses and a five-percent pay raise for lawmakers.
