An important record-keeping task will continue at the Knox County Public Library– even though the program is out of grant funds. The grant funded the digitizing of records pertaining to African-American county residents. KCPL director Emily Bunyan gives the reality of the grant to fund the work. Bunyan knows the work is so important– so the Library picked up the slack.
Some of those records go back to the earliest days of Knox County, rom the late 18th Century onward.
