A June 19th groundbreaking is set for construction of the planned Agro-Renew plant in the U-S 41 Industrial Park. The program will begin that morning at 10 a-m at the plant’s future location at 701 Elkhorn Road. Agro-Renew’s goal is to take produce waste and turn it into various recyclable bioplastiocs.
The 83 million dollar, 20 acre, 196-thousand square foot facility will employ over 300 people. The first wave of company hiring will happen next month. However, a group of people have already been hired to staff the facility. The idea to create the plant started with a collaboration at downtown Vincennes’ Pantheon Business Theatre.
