Groundbreaking for the Agro-Renew startup is planned for ten tomorrow morning at the facility’s location on Elkhorn Road in the U-S 41 Industrial Park. The 83 million dollar plant will be designed to turn produce waste into useable bio-plastics.
The land the facility will sit on is managed by Knox County Indiana Economic Development. K-C-I-E-D director Chris Pfaff says the last few months have been full of activity leading to tomorrow’s official beginning to physical activity.
The idea was hatched and nurtured through Vincennes’ Pantheon Business Theatre. The concept went from idea to groundbreaking in just over a year; Pantheon spokeswoman Carrie Lane knows that time has been a whirlwind of activity.
When completed, Agro-Renew officials plan to hire over 300 people for the facility– including research and development experts. At this time, hiring for the location is expected to begin sometime next month.
