The unseen drainage-related work on Washington Avenue is about complete. In recent months, the work has been mainly below the surface of the road. However, now, Vincennes City Engineer John Sprague says that work is almost complete. After the storm sewer work is complete, the work begins toward laying base asphalt on the road. Sprague says it all starts with a concrete base.
The plan is to have base asphalt ready for crowds headed to Inman Field for football season. Final asphalt setting, and completion, is hoped for sometime in October or November of this year.
