AgroRenew will break ground at ten this morning on a 196,000 square foot manufacturing facility on Elkhorn Road in Vincennes.
The facility will transform crop waste from Knox County watermelon fields into fully biodegradable plastics.
Bioplastics will enter the market as alternatives to single-use plastics for everyday items like straws and grocery bags.
AgroRenew plans to invest $83 million by 2026. Once completed, the facility will span 20 acres and employ 300+ people.
