The Martin County Sheriff’s Office reports the unexpected loss of K9 Spike.
Spike’s handler Captain Larry Gibson reported the news Sunday morning.
Spike was six years old.
He was imported from Germany and initially trained with former Deputy Cody Shinn in 2018.
K9 Spike was trained in both patrol and detection.
