Governor Eric Holcomb announced the second round of firefighter training locations. Daviess County was one of the five sites announced during a dedication ceremony of a newly built training site in Wabash.
The Daviess County site will be in Washington Township.
The sites, designed to eliminate “training deserts” across Indiana, will be equipped with training towers equipped with live-burn capabilities. One of the four, phase-one, locations announced in 2023 is under construction in Linton in Greene County.
The Hub-and-Spoke training initiative has funded nine locations from $17.7 million allocated by the Indiana General Assembly to Governor Holcomb’s Next Level Agenda
