A planned Vincennes housing development off Thompson Drive expects to break ground within a few weeks. D-C Developers told the City Redevelopment Commission it has contacted with a developer to build houses in its land, but with D-C Developers still owning the land itself.
The groundbreaking and construction is awaiting a variance clearance by the Knox County Board of Zoning Appeals. D-C Developers spokesman Matt Hendrixson told the R-D-C the variance is needed, due to the close proximity of the lots.
Also, the R-D-C heard about a planned adjustment to the homes in the Broadway Place area. Developers want to re-purpose homes in those areas from single family residences, to two single family homes and ten duplexes. The R-D-C is on board with the idea, since it would better assist with a need for more multi-family housing in Vincennes.
