Even though many students are less than a month out of the last school year ending, one group is preparing for some kids to get started. The United Way of Knox County is working toward their “Kindergarten Jump Start” program. That will be offered through all three Knox County School corporations this summer.
U-W-K-C director Mark Hill says a big part of beginning school comes at the end of Jump Start– with the “Bedtime in a Box” program. Hill credits a Vincennes Rotary group for helping with “Bedtime in a Box.”
Kindergarten Jump Start is designed to give all kindergarten-age kids a good base to take with them into their first elementary school experience.
