The State of Indiana could give Vincennes Cub League a matching grant of up to 50-thousand dollars for dollars raised in a Crowdfunding campaign.
The Vincennes Cub League is raising the funds for improvements to Veterans’ Field. The field, designed for 13 to 16 year-old players, is part of the overall Vincennes Cub League complex.
The Crowdfunding campaign will continue through this Sunday. The state’s “CreatINg Places” grant will match donations, dollar for dollar, up to 50-thousand dollars. If successful, that would raise 100-thousand dollars for the work. At this time, Cub League officials say the fund-raising is on target toward getting the maximum match.
The planned improvements include bleachers, press boxes, improved irrigation, sod improvements, along with dugout and scoreboard upgrades.
