Paving work on Washington Avenue has already started. The first load of base asphalt is being placed on the targeted part of Washington Avenue, from Kelso Creek to Emison Avenue.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says the base asphalt work is not the only part of the project being done right now– work is also happening on curbs alongside the roadway. At this point, Mayor Yochum is confident everything is on time– if not better– on Washington Avenue.
The final parts of the project include the final layers of asphalt being put in place, and improved lighiting coming to that part of the corridor.
