There is still a shortage of blood in Indiana’s hospitals. Versiti Blood Center of Indiana is one of the primary suppliers of blood for hospitals, but Area VP Penny Schroeder tells Indianapolis’ WISH-TV they are on pace to come up short of their goal for donations this year and that they are in desperate need of O-negative and O-positive blood.
She says they get a lot of their donations from high school and college partners, but with school having been out for the summer that’s when they experience a lull in donations. You can visit the Versiti website to sign up to donate.
