The City of Vincennes has been given a shovel from the recent groundbreaking of Agro-Renew in the U-S 41 Industrial Park. The plant is being constructed off Elkhorn Road; it is expected to employ over 300 workers. That number does not count various research and other professionals also working in the plant. The shovel will be used as part of a display of Agro-Renew items at Vincennes City Hall.
Brian Southern is the founder and president of Agro-Renew. Last night, he told Vincennes City Council Things are going well with the work at the Agro-Renew plant, toward a plan of full operation by 2026.
The 83 million dollar plant will take produce waste from area farms, and turn it into a bio-plastic material for use in various items.
