Wabash Steel is investing 2.5 million dollars in its Vincennes plant to install equipment allowing complex steel cleaning and preparation.
Wabash Steel’s Operations vice-president Jason Turk says the new equipment will be fully installed in 2025. When installed, he expects it will dramatically improve productivity, and increase its workforce by about 10 workers.
Together with Vincennes University and other partners, Knox County Economic Development helped Wabash Steel obtain a $200,000 Conexus Manufacturing Readiness Grant from the State of Indiana for the project.
Wabash Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lenex Steel, fabricates structural steel plate girders primarily for highway and railroad bridges.
