Vincennes University is joining with other groups for tomorrow’s annual Suicide Walk. The event will begin at 9 a-m on the University’s outdoor track. Participants can walk various distances– from half a mile up to five miles.
The Samaritan Center of Vincennes stated the walk about a decade ago, but had it interrupted by the Covid restrictions of the early 2020’s. Kathy Evans is helping head up the Suicide Walk this year; she says V-U joined the Samaritan Center to get the walk back on track.
Suicide is the 12th leading cause of death for all Americans. As of the last count in 2020, over 45-thousand, 900 people reportedly took their lives that year.
