It’s a hot debate right now among landholders– increased property tax assessments, leading to higher overall property taxes. That is despite a state Constitutional amendment to cap taxes at one percent for homeowners.
David Bottorff is with the Association of Indiana Counties. He says property value increases just before and during the Covid pandemic is one of the culprits. Bottorff doesn’t think the Legislature will do much more to help the issue.
