The Knox County Salvation Army is accepting coats and other items today for those in need in the community. Today marks the annual “Coats for Kids” campaign at the Brevoort House at Sixth and Busseron in Vincennes.
From seven a-m to three p-m, community members can drop off new or gently used coats for collection today. They will then be cleaned and given out starting at 9 am Monday, October 14th, at the Salvation Army headquarters at Second and Minneapolis The coat giveaway goes with the Salvation Army’s annual Christimas signups.
The signups for the group’s various Christmas programs runs from October 14th to the day before Thanksgiving, November 27th.
