sectional….Vincennes Lincoln downed Southridge 5-1. The Alices will play Princeton in Thursdays
Semi-final. The other semi will feature Washington against Gibson Southern.
At the Northeast Dubois Girls Class A sectional…South Knox beat Washington Catholic 2-0
The other first round game had Forest Park eliminate Shoals 11-0 So South Knox will play
Forest Park in Thursdays first semi-final at 5:30. The other semi-final will have the host
Jeeps taking on Tell City.
Finally, at the Sullivan Class A sectional, North Knox beat Bloomfield 3-2. Lili Phegley accounted for the game
Winning goal with seven minutes left in regulation. Carrie Ann Meyers and Kambric
Rode also added goals for the Warriors. So Thursdays semi-finals will have Rivet taking on Sullivan at five and
White River Valley playing North Knox At seven.
Soccer sectional action today…
At the Class A South Knox Sectional, Northeast Dubois plays Vincennes Rivet at 5pm
With game two featuring the host Spartans against Barr-Reeve.
The Class 2-A Sectional at Gibson Southern. The host titans play Southridge at six with Vincennes
Lincoln playing Washington at eight.
The Vincennes Lincoln tennis team saw its season come to an end, falling to number seven Jasper 5-0 at the Jasper
Regional. The Wildcats will take on Barr-Reeve in today’s final. The Vikings blanked Sullivan 5-0.
In other sports…
Evansville Memorial downed the Vincennes Lincoln Volleyball team 3-0. Amya Woodall had 18 digs for the Alices. Evansville
Memorial won the JV contest 2-1. Emma Cunningham led Lincoln with 12 points and 15 digs.
The South Knox volleyball team lost a thriller to Loogootee, falling 3-2. The Lions won the fifth set 16-14. Big night for
South Knox senior Bren Hill, who slammed 28 kills, had 18 digs, 12 points and eight blocks. Ava Steffey had 18
Points and 26 assists. South Knox won the JV match 2-0 as Braelyn Gladish had 27 digs.
The Rivet 8th grade volleyball team beat ACA 2-0. Sophia Cleghorn had six Aces for the Patriots. The
Rivet 7th grade also posted a 2-0 win with Laney Cooper scoring seven aces. However, the Rivet
sixth grade lost 2-1.
The Vincennes University volleyball team picked up its 20th win of the season, posting a 3-1 win at
John A Logan college. Elisa Dalla Pozza had 19 kills for VU, which now stands at 20-8 on the season.
