Smaller retailers– and larger ones alike– are now in the busiest quarter of their retail year. The last three months– from now through the end of the year– are part of the overall holiday shopping season.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum reminds everyone to shop local– not just this season, but the rest of the year too.
One incentive to help people shop local is the use of buy one get one free shopping cards. Those are sold by the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, for use by participating Chamber members. Mayor Yochum expects that program to return later this year.
Money spent at local businesses turns over, with community benefits equaling several times the original amount spent.
