The Vicnennes Community School Board has approved a proposed 2025 budget of just over 42-million dollars. The proposed amount is nearly 3 million dollars higher than the final adjusted amount for this year. The biggest part of the budget is 23.6 million dollars in the Education fund. nearly 8.8 million is in the Operations fund, with a five-million dollar reserve for the Rainy Day Fund. The proposed tax rate is almost a dollar, 38 cents per hundred dollars in assessed property value.
The budget will now be reviewed by the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance. After adjustments, school officials expect the tax to be near the current amount of 91 cents per hundred.
