34 of Indiana’s 92 counties are now back under burn bans. Area counties posting bans are Daviess, Martin, Sullivan, Vigo, and Clay.
A burn ban means open burning is prohibited including burning of vegetation, brush, non-contained wood or timber and building construction material.
Campfires and recreational fires are allowed if contained in a burn ring or fire pit.
Gas and charcoal grills are allowed.
If using charcoal, it must be fully extinguished when finished.
Burn barrels are allowed with a wire mesh screen with quarter inch or less openings from dawn to dusk only.
