The Francis Vigo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a ceremony this Sunday to dedicate a grave marker for Fracis Vigo. The ceremony will be held in the Greenlawn Cemetery, near 10th and Willow Streets in Vincennes.
A separte image of Vigo is set up just below the George Rogers Clark memorial, along the Wabash River. Cindy Frederick is with the D-A-R; she feels Francis Vigo’s donations were a major boost to Clark. Fredrick says the D-A-R is recognizing Vigo for his donations– and his information– to make Clark’s actions in Vincennes a success.
A reception to honor Francis Vigo will happen following the marker ceremony. That will be at the D-A-R Francis Vigo Chapter House at 30 West Harrison Street. The Chapter House is located close to Vincennes University’s Green Activities Center just off Harrison Street.
