Around 22 percent of the registered voters in Knox County h ave already cast ballots for the November general election, set for November fifth. At this point, with just less than a week to go, just under five-thousand Knox County voters have come out in person for early voting this year.
Also, at this point, the mail-in ballots are also being returned ahead of time. Knox County Clerk David Shelton reports around 600 have voted by mail already in this 2024 Presidential election.
Voting continues through this week in the lobby of the old Knox County Jail. That facility is across 8th Street from the Courthouse. Saturday early voting will also be available in the former Jail lobby, the Bicknell fire station, and the Blue Jeans Center in Monroe City. The early voting deadline will be at noon on Monday, November fourth. Election Day votes will happen from six a-m to six p-m on Tuesday, November fifth.
