Vincennes-based Helping His Hands is still helping with hurricane victims struck earlier this fall by Hurricane Helene. The work has been centered along the Eastern Seaboard, from Florida northward to North Carlina.
Helping His Hands director Jason Burkhart says it’s different working with hurricane damage, compared to recent work in two area cities hit by tornadoes– Sullivan and Robinson, Illinois. The EF-3 twister that hit those areas happened exactly 19 months ago– on March 31st, 2023. However, Burkhart knows as bad as the tornado damage was, it pales in comparison to the damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
The hurricane damage assistance continues the history of Helping His Hands helping with local and area disasters in the Midwest, South, and Southeast.
