The Knox County Commissioners have confirmed the promotion of Carter Luce to become the next director of the Knox County E-911 program. Luce– the current Deputy Director– will start Monday to replace the departing Rob McMullin. McMullin has submitted his resignation, effective tomorrow. The Commissioners reluctantly accepted his resignation.
McMullin told the Commissioners at yesterday’s session that he plans to take up a private job in a similar field. He was hired in as a n interim director in 2019, but what was to be a six-month fill-in spot extended for over five years.
Luce’s promotion was approved two-one, with Commissioner T-J Bring casting the lone “no” vote.
